March Blog from RJ
Hello friends! I do not know about you, but I am so happy that Springtime is almost here. I just love the month of March! And why do I love the month of March? Two reasons! Reason number one: Springtime! I just love Springtime! Seeing the flowers and the trees begin to bloom and blossom it makes me think of the following Christian hymn, “How Great Thou Art.” God made the valleys, How Great Thou Art, God made the flowers, trees, and plants, How Great Thou Art! And when you and I look up and gaze at the heavens we will see the beautiful blue sky. We will see the clouds that bring the earth its rain and snow. Each snowflake is different each cloud is different with its shape and size.
Mankind was made to scan the skies. And watch what happens when we scan the skies and gaze at the Heavens, the Bible says in Psalm 19, the Heavens declares the glory of God. The Heavens declaring the glory of God is not a one-time thing the Heavens are declaring the glory of God continually. Every moment, every second, every hour and every day the Heavens continually declare the glory of God. The heavens continually gave testimony to God as the Creator. The shooting stars we see at night declares the glory of God. The moon we see at night declares the glory of God. I love what Adrian Rogers said he said, “We see in Genesis 1:1 that God stood upon the platform of nothing and spoke a world into existence. We see in nature that God has put Himself on display so that all can see. Nature is God’s theater show casing His glory. Each spring I am reminder how great our God is, and I stand in awe of His Glory!!
And now the second reason why I love spring: March Madness is almost here. I love watching the college basketball tournament every year on TV. There is no doubt about it that March is my favorite month for sports.
We are excited to have Pastor Mark back with us at HCC. Pastor Mark will be leading a Bible Study on the Book of James starting on March 8.th. This will be a six -week Bible Study from 6:30-8:00 p.m. and we will be meeting in the Church Fellowship Hall. The textbook Pastor Mark would like for us to purchase is Be Mature: Growing Up in Christ by Warren W. Wiersbe. The Approx. price of the book is around 15.00 dollars. Here is a quick overview of the book: “Perhaps of all the books in the New Testament, James most squarely focuses on results. His pull-no-punches approach to spiritual maturity and his preference for actions over words makes his text the perfect backdrop for a study of how to grow in faith.” There will be a sign- up sheet in the Welcome Center please sign up today if you are interested in joining us for this wonderful Bible Study.
If you have no church home, we would love for you and your family to join us on Sunday Mornings at Huntsburg Congregational Church for worship at 10:30 a.m. Your presence would truly bless us!
