GEMS Girls’ Club
GEMS at Huntsburg Congregational Church is a perfect place to learn and grow as girls discover who God created them to be.
GEMS stands for “Girls Everywhere Meeting the Savior”, a mentoring program for all girls of all backgrounds in first through eighth grades. The vision is to see girls around the world actively
and enthusiastically expressing love for God and others – girls equipped, motivated, and passionately engaged in living out their faith.
GEMS Girls’ Clubs is a non-denominational, non-profit, Christian organization designed to help girls discover their purpose and potential. Founded in 1958 in Grand Rapids, Michigan, it has
grown to become an international ministry with 5,200 women serving over 23,000 girls in more than 800 clubs including the United States and Canada.
Statistics show 7 out of 10 girls believe they do not measure up in some way. When girls know that God loves them and is for them, we know they can change the world. Using creative
materials that make biblical truth accessible to all girls and designing straightforward lessons, the GEMS leaders make it fun in a safe environment.
Girls are placed in a group with other girls and caring women who lead and mentor their group. Meetings include Bible lessons, singing, crafts, games, badge work and fun. Throughout the year, special events are planned.
Girls in grades 9 through 12 have an opportunity to become a counselor in training who will help and learn at the same time.
It is easy to join and there is no cost to join. Enroll by contacting either coordinator Lynn Holmes at 440-636-5429 or leader Deb Walker at 440-632-3000.
